Experience: Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care is required.
License: Current State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required within 12 months of hire.


Must-Have:
- Associate Degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
- BLS Certification.


Description:
A Respiratory Therapist performs designated respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures.
This role involves the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system.
Respiratory care services include, but are not limited to, therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing performed with the use of medical gases and equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.
Responsibilities also include the administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems, is a critical aspect of this role.
Bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises are performed as needed.
Patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation are also key components of care.
Maintenance of natural and artificial airways is a required duty.
These procedures are performed in both critical care and non-critical care areas, on patients of all ages.
The individual is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Preferred experience includes 2+ years of work in a hospital setting providing respiratory care.
Preferred certifications include ACLS and NRP.
Membership in related professional organizations is also preferred.
