Compensation:

• $16 - $21/hr ., based on experience
• $3/hr. Weekend differential

Schedule:

• Full-Time
  • 4 x 10 Hour Shifts
  • Rotating Weekday Off
  • Rotating weekends/holidays

Job Description:
The Neurology Assistant supports technicians and doctors during procedures, ensuring patients are properly prepared for surgery with thorough pre-op care, including IV catheter placement. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to patient comfort, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, eager to grow, and dedicated to providing exceptional care throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting technicians in anesthetic procedures.
• Assisting doctors during examinations.
• Setting up anesthesia equipment.
• Setting up and breaking down surgery room.
• Placing catheters, taking vitals and pulling blood.
• Prepare samples for outside laboratories.
• Assist technicians in administering chemotherapy.
• Setting up a radiology room.
• Housekeeping

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Assistant certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience required
• This is a Full-Time position. Four days a week, 10-hour shifts.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays – On Call Rotation Schedule
• Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
• Familiarity with animal husbandry practices
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and be able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Strong work ethics and positive attitude
• Physical ability to lift and restrain animals of varying sizes (up to 50 lbs. unassisted).
• Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
