As an Unarmed Security Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol beautiful public spaces, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for guests, staff, and visitors. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $19.57 / Hour Job Schedule: Saturday: 10:00 AM - 05:00 PM Sunday: 10:00 AM - 05:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to visitors, members, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate. Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of gardens, visitor areas, buildings, pathways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns. Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and assistance, and report unauthorized access or policy violations according to site procedures. Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations. Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, and security-related activities while maintaining a professional presence in a cultural institution setting. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
