Patient Account Registrar

Overview Shifts Available: Variable Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12 hour shifts Department: ER Admitting Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, TX Responsibilities Interview patients or authorized representatives to gather accurate demographic and insurance information Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and required authorizations Enter and retrieve patient data using computerized systems Communicate clearly with patients using age-appropriate techniques across all life stages Support Admitting department operations, including reception, PBX functions, and special assignments Qualifications Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Customer Services experience required.
