Athletic Trainer

Renew Orthobiologics Center | Waco, Texas Approximately 12–20 hours per week | $25–$35 per hour Renew Orthobiologics Center is seeking a licensed athletic trainer to join our physician-led, orthobiologicspractice in Waco. This office-based position offers the opportunity to work alongside a sports medicine fellowship–trained physician while supporting advanced, evidence-based care for active adults and athletes. The ideal candidate combines strong clinical skills with exceptional communication, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to the patient experience. Key Responsibilities Perform physician-directed focused shockwave therapy and EMTT sessions according to established clinical protocols. Assist with PRP and other orthobiologic procedures, including room preparation, equipment setup and procedure-day workflow. Support biologic processing and quality-control documentation after appropriate training. Provide physician-approved home exercise and return-to-activity education. Demonstrate exercises and ensure patients understand proper technique. Reinforce pre- and post-procedure instructions. Document services, patient tolerance and relevant clinical information accurately. Prepare examination and procedure rooms. Maintain clinical supplies, equipment readiness and inventory. Help maintain an organized, efficient and welcoming clinical environment. All clinical responsibilities will be performed under physician direction and within the athletic trainer’s licensed scope of practice. Required Qualifications Current Texas athletic trainer license, or eligibility to obtain licensure before beginning employment. Current BOC certification. Current BLS certification. Strong understanding of musculoskeletal injuries, therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation principles. Excellent interpersonal and patient-education skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation. Ability to work independently within established physician protocols. Dependable, professional and comfortable working in a small, collaborative practice. Preferred Qualifications Previous orthopedic, sports medicine or outpatient clinical experience. Experience with therapeutic modalities. Experience assisting with office-based procedures. Familiarity with shockwave therapy, diagnostic ultrasound and/or orthobiologic procedures. Phlebotomy or medical-assisting experience. Experience educating active adults and athletes about home exercise and progressive return to activity. Prior experience with shockwave therapy or orthobiologics is helpful but not required. Specialized training will be provided. Schedule and Compensation Part-time, approximately 12–20 hours per week. Initial hours will be concentrated around scheduled clinic procedure and energy-device sessions. Additional hours may become available as clinic volume grows. Starting compensation of $25–$35 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. Formal performance and compensation review after the initial training and competency period.
