Location: Charleston, Illinois (on-site)
Travel: As needed
Reports To: Director of Revenue Cycle

About the Opportunity

A multi-state skilled nursing organization is seeking an experienced Billing Director to lead and oversee day-to-day billing operations across all facilities. This individual will play a key role in ensuring timely billing, strong collections performance, and accountability across the billing team.

Key Responsibilities

Billing Operations Leadership

• Oversee daily billing operations across multiple facilities

• Ensure timely and accurate claim submission across all payer types

• Enforce strict billing timelines and hold teams accountable to deadlines

Team Oversight

• Directly manage and support billing staff across facilities

• Provide training, guidance, and performance management to billers

• Establish clear workflows, expectations, and productivity standards

Collections & AR Performance

• Drive 95%+ collection rate goals across the portfolio

• Monitor AR aging and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding balances

• Escalate and resolve complex billing or collection issues

Quality Control & Accuracy

• Review claims for accuracy prior to submission

• Identify and correct billing errors, missed charges, and revenue gaps

• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements

Systems & Reporting

• Oversee billing functions within PointClickCare (PCC)

• Track and report on KPIs including billing timeliness, AR days, and collections

• Provide regular updates to Revenue Cycle leadership

Qualifications

• MUST have Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) billing experience

• 5+ years of billing experience, with leadership responsibilities preferred

• Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing processes

• Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) required

• Proven ability to manage teams and drive collections performance

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
