Role: Senior COBOL Developer (Mainframe Modernization)

Location: Austin, TX(Hybrid - worker will need to be onsite 3 days a week)

About the Role

looking for a Senior COBOL Developer to support mainframe modernization and the implementation of CITS. Most existing applications are written in COBOL or Java. You'll perform highly complex software development work with considerable independence and minimal supervision.

Job Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on the mainframe
• Assess business requirements and design technical solutions and architectures
• Provide technical guidance to team members, including training materials and presentations
• Anticipate and resolve technical, operational, and process issues in a timely manner

Required Skills

COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, Microsoft Teams

Preferred Skills

REXX, XPEDITER, SVN, SQR (Hyperion)

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of experience assessing requirements, designing technology solutions and architectures, and providing technical direction to teams
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Knowledge of mainstream technologies and architectures, including open standards, database, and integration technologies
