Job Description

Job Summary: The Acute Care Sonographer II is responsible for performing advanced ultrasound procedures to aid in diagnosis and treatment in a highly complex inpatient setting. This role requires independent operation, technical proficiency, and collaboration with medical staff to ensure accurate imaging and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasound exams and procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings, adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Assist physicians and medical personnel during imaging procedures, providing technical support as needed.
• Complete accurate and thorough documentation for all exams, ensuring proper interpretation, reporting, and archiving.
• Review previous studies, reports, and health records to facilitate timely and accurate US procedures.
• Maintain compliance with organizational quality indicators, standards, and certification requirements.
• Support ancillary duties related to exam distribution, billing, and record management.

Qualifications:

• Obtain and maintain registered sonography certification in ARDMS in at least one category (OB/Gyn or Abdomen/Small Parts).
• Hold or be working toward certification in an advanced category (Fetal Echocardiography, Breast, Pediatrics, Vascular Technology, Musculoskeletal) or possess equivalent experience.
• Demonstrate minimum of two years post-graduation experience in advanced ultrasound practice.
• Possess current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills in a high-pressure environment.
• Show ability to prioritize tasks and exercise sound judgment.
