Location Altru Professional Center, 4400 S. Washington St., Grand Forks, ND 58201 Pay Range $19.76 - $29.64 Job Summary The Endoscopy Technician assists the medical team using endoscopes to diagnose or treat patients with gastrointestinal problems. The technician interacts with patients and helps physicians and nurses by preparing the room and equipment, and assisting during endoscopy procedures. The technician handles specimens, assists with transport of patients, and assists with ordering supplies and managing inventory. The position sets up and tests endoscopes and special instruments for each case. Essential Job Functions Set up and test endoscopes and special instruments for each case. Inspect endoscopes daily; assess for any potential problems with endoscopes and equipment. Troubleshoot equipment and communicate concerns to the Supervisor and Biomedical Engineering. Complete bedside cleaning of scopes after procedures and transport scopes to Central Sterile Department for cleaning. Monitor supply inventory, order and restock rooms as needed. Monitor CO₂ tanks and exchange empty tanks as needed. Adjust workload to meet fluctuations in patient census and acuity. Follow infection control policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department/organization. Certifications Certified Nurse Aide | North Dakota Board of Health | Within 4 months of start date. Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of start date. Education Preferred: Associate’s degree in a related field. Work Experience Preferred: Equivalent combination of education and experience related to endoscopy or medical assistance. Language Requirements Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
