QA Technician I

Quality Assurance Position Assist with tasks related to the quality of finished products, raw ingredients, and packaging materials. Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety practices are followed. Collect measurements, test, and report results on various components to ensure they fall within specification ranges. Ensure that sandwiches are being built to specification. Conduct in line audits/product assessments for specification compliance on food products. Coordinate with production on regulatory and quality issues, and document corrective actions. Ensure GMPs are being followed. Assess facility for sanitary compliance. Collect weights and measurements of finished good products. Ensure package integrity and accuracy. Other duties as assigned. High School Diploma or equivalent, or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Certificates related to Food Safety and/or HACCP preferred. Ability to operate standard lab equipment. Excellent time management and task prioritization abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Be detailed and organized. Problem solving skills. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Knowledge of Food Safety fundamentals is desirable. The ability to read and understand specifications and other technical documents. Strong attention to detail; data and sample collection, accuracy in paperwork. Ability to use a tablet/iPad. Ability to interact with all levels of organization. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and occasionally sit; climb or balance; reach with hands and arms; taste or smell. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (non-weather). This position requires training on Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality, and process efficiency. Training is also required on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation and cleanliness of the lines, etc., critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality, and process efficiency.
