Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor and delivery processes, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby. This role involves managing obstetric emergencies and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and monitor vital signs to assess patient progress during labor.
• Assist with deliveries, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Educate patients and families about childbirth processes and postpartum care.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to coordinate care plans.
• Document patient information accurately using electronic health records.
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in labor and delivery or obstetric nursing preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts, including every other weekend, with flexible availability.
• Strong clinical skills in monitoring fetal and maternal health, and emergency response.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
