We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Python Developer to spearhead a critical legacy migration project. The initiative focuses on a full-scale on-prem to cloud migration into AWS. This role is highly hands-on and requires building clean, fresh Python microservices to fully replace legacy Java applications.

Requirements and Skills
- 10 to 15+ years of overall software development experience (Must-Have)
- 5+ years of dedicated professional experience developing in Python (Must-Have)
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambdas and serverless architectures (Must-Have)
- Previous professional experience as a Java Developer or working heavily with legacy Java applications (Must-Have)
- At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience working within the USA (Must-Have)
- Proven experience handling live on-premise to AWS cloud migration initiatives.
- Strong, up-to-date proficiency in core AWS cloud services (Azure is not applicable for this project).
- Cloud Migration: Lead the migration of legacy on-premise systems over to high-performing AWS cloud environments.
- Modernization: Read and analyze old legacy codebase written in Java and refactor/rewrite it into scalable, clean Python code.
- Serverless Engineering: Build, optimize, and deploy heavy business logic using event-driven AWS Lambda functions.
- Collaboration: Bridge the gap across distributed operations and development teams to ensure a zero-downtime cutover during migration.
