3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants About the Role We’re seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accounting & FP&A Analyst to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will support both financial planning & analysis and core accounting operations, providing insights that inform decision-making while ensuring accurate financial records. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment and is comfortable working cross-functionally to support strategic and operational goals. Key Responsibilities • Own and execute the monthly and annual close process, including reconciliations and journal entries • Prepare Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and assist with full financial statement preparation • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies • Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business performance • Analyze financial results and prepare summary reports and dashboards for leadership • Partner with business units to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and model scenarios • Support cash flow analysis, revenue forecasting, and cost control initiatives • Create and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and support dashboard reporting • Identify and implement improvements to streamline financial processes and reporting • Support audits, tax filings, and other regulatory compliance needs • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate monthly closes Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred) • 3+ years of experience in accounting and/or FP&A (SaaS or startup experience a plus) • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Maxio for reporting and reconciliation • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of financial modeling • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices • Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, and journal entries • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and meeting deadlines • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Experience supporting external audits or tax filings is a plus • Familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite or SAP is a bonus Why Join Us? • 100% remote team and flexible work environment • Opportunity to support a growing business in a high-impact finance and accounting role • Collaborative and mission-driven culture • Competitive hourly rate and opportunity for future growth Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Finance and Sales Industries Software Development Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Subject7 by 2x Get notified about new Financial Planning Analyst jobs in Maryland, United States .
