TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Kankakee, Illinois, 60901!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Stepdown Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Illinois license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: EPIC experience, positive attitude, ICU experience preferred Description: Drivers license required for consideration. Unit consists of 22 private beds. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 for both days and nights. Common diagnoses include cardiac issues, open heart day 3, cranial surgeries, and cardiac catheterizations. Experience with titratable drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin is necessary. Nurse aids are available on the unit with a ratio of 1:10 for assistance with blood sugars, vitals, and activities of daily living. RNs will read telemetry; centralized tele tech will assist with monitoring. The charge nurse is a team lead during the day and does not take patients. Weekend requirements include every other weekend, along with holiday requirements every other holiday. RNs may float to ICU for PCU level patients or to medical-surgical units for full assignments. Scrub color is Caribbean. There is no call or standby requirement. Unit-specific orientation will consist of one 12-hour shift.
