Senior Electrician

Qualifications High School diploma/GED and Journeyman Electrician license with five (5) years of journeyman level experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical systems in large commercial, industrial or intuitional facilities. Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to respond to after normal hours emergencies occasionally. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time. Responsibilities Acts as senior advisor to shop supervisor, electrical engineer, shop personnel and Physical Plant Administration; assists shop supervisor as needed to provide training to personnel. Coordinates the activities of electrical contractors performing work on campus; inspects and approves electrical contractors’ work; ensures that contractor and in-house work complies with applicable codes and Physical Plant and University policies. Inspects, test, services, and repairs, emergency electrical generators and elevators as necessary. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment. Plans and estimates electrical projects for review by electrical engineer. Troubleshoots electrical systems to locate and correct problems; installs and connects new systems including wiring, conduit, fuses, control systems. Perform preventive maintenance work on electrical equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
