Job Description

The warehouse selector organizes, scans, and categorizes incoming and outgoing products while ensuring accuracy and quality. This role involves inspecting items for damage, preparing merchandise for shipping, handling materials safely, and operating basic warehouse tools to meet strict production goals in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize items, packages, or materials by destination, type, size, or code to support efficient warehouse operations.
• Inspect inventory during the sorting process to identify defects, damage, or missing pieces and report issues promptly.
• Use handheld barcode scanners or computer systems to log inventory movement and maintain accurate tracking records.
• Load and unload boxes or pallets manually or with basic material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks.
• Palletize products securely to ensure safe storage and transport.
• Perform general material handling tasks, including picking orders, staging products, and moving inventory within the warehouse.
• Support warehouse inventory activities by helping count, verify, and organize stock as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by removing debris and following facility safety guidelines.
• Work at a consistent pace to meet facility production goals and adapt to changing priorities based on truck arrivals and workload.

Essential Skills

• Experience with loading and unloading products safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency in material handling, including moving boxes and pallets within a warehouse environment.
• Ability to use RF scanners and handheld barcode scanners to track inventory and log product movement.
• Skill in using pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks to move pallets and materials.
• Attention to detail to read labels accurately, follow sorting instructions, and identify damaged or missing goods.
• Physical strength and stamina to stand and walk for long shifts and frequently lift weights ranging from 20 to 35 pounds.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with high noise levels.
• Ability to maintain focus and accuracy while meeting production and performance targets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse inventory environment, including picking and organizing stock.
• Familiarity with warehouse processes such as palletizing, staging, and order preparation.
• Ability to adapt to non-climate-controlled conditions, including warm temperatures in summer and cold temperatures in winter.
• Flexibility to work variable hours based on truck arrival times and operational needs.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting schedule requirements and production expectations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment that can be warm in the summer and cold in the winter, and it may have high noise levels typical of active distribution operations. The schedule runs primarily from Thursday to Sunday and depends on when trucks arrive, so flexibility is essential as there is no fixed start time and weekly hours typically range from 24 to 30 per week. The position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment such as pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks in a non-climate-controlled facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
