Relationship Banker I First United Bank seeks a Relationship Banker I to serve as the single point of contact for customers, matching their financial needs with First United Bank products and services, and mentoring employees to do the same. Essential Duties Maintain basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and regulatory requirements. Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships. Serve as customers’ single point of contact on all First United Bank products and services. Consistently meet or exceed performance goals; actively participate in all sales campaigns; promote new products and services; educate customers and peers. Participate in all meetings, bank functions and customer appreciation/community events as requested. Consistently meet customer service expectations by offering excellent service, including greeting customers, using their name and building rapport. Identify and match customer product needs with First United Bank products and services by interviewing customers and discussing financial needs, including making referrals to other staff. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and all ancillary products; answer customer questions and complete necessary paperwork. Assist customers with routine inquiries and requests such as balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stops, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services and privacy. Process a variety of transactions quickly and accurately according to policies and procedures, including accepting checks, money orders, savings bonds, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks, and processing payments for loans and services. Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications and vault duties; verify all transactions and prove cash drawer upon shift completion. Resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues; review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports. Perform security functions by opening and closing bank and vault, ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds. Employee Specifications High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred. One year of retail experience preferred; cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills required. Basic mathematics for problem solving. Exact or highly accurate daily work. Effective reading, writing, and verbal communication with customers and co‑workers. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently, with minimal supervision. Good judgment and decision‑making skills. Logical reasoning and critical thinking to identify solutions. Multitasking ability. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance; act ethically.
