Speech Language Pathologist (SLP - CCC) - SNF / LTC - Contract

Position Overview A great SNF / LTC is looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their growing team. The SLP will assess referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, or language deficits and teach them to improve communication and swallowing skills. Responsibilities Assess patients referred for speech, hearing, and/or language deficits. Teach patients how to make sounds, improve voice, and increase oral or written language skills to communicate more effectively. Teach individuals strategies to strengthen muscles or use compensatory techniques to swallow without choking or inhaling food or liquid. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care for each patient. Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders. Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet speech therapy goals. Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills, enabling them to fulfill educational, vocational, and social roles. Requirements MUST have graduated from an accredited school. Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist/SLP, or be in the process of obtaining it. Current CPR certification.
