Role Overview The Registered Nurse in the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides direct, evidence-based care to critically ill newborns, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes. The position emphasizes clinical assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, while supporting families through education and advocacy. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a high-acuity neonatal environment. Perform ongoing patient assessments and respond effectively to emergencies. Coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff to ensure optimal care. Evaluate patient conditions and make sound clinical decisions based on current evidence and professional standards. Provide family-centered education tailored to developmental and cultural needs. Serve as a clinical resource, participate in quality improvement, and promote team development. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of a state-approved nursing program. Eligibility or credentialing for the Board of Nursing examination in MO. Current AHA Healthcare Provider certification or completion within probation. Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. Dedication to neonatal care and family support. Additional Details Work involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and exposure to blood and body fluids. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
