Girls High School Tennis Coach
James Irwin Charter School
*James Irwin Charter Schools* is seeking an experienced and motivated *Girls High School Tennis Coach* to join our athletic program for the upcoming school year. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the court. Our tennis program emphasizes *character development, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, perseverance, leadership, and competitive excellence.* Coaches play an important role in mentoring student-athletes while helping build a positive, competitive team culture. Season Details * Official girls tennis season: *August – October*
* Optional preseason conditioning and open court opportunities available in accordance with CHSAA regulations
* Practices are typically held after school, with matches and tournaments throughout the season Responsibilities * Plan and lead effective tennis practices focused on individual skill development and team success
* Teach proper stroke mechanics, footwork, serving, strategy, match play, and sportsmanship
* Develop players of varying skill levels while encouraging continuous improvement
* Promote discipline, teamwork, accountability, and a positive team culture
* Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, tournaments, travel, and team events
* Collaborate with school administration, the Athletic Director, and other coaches
* Encourage offseason skill development and conditioning opportunities within CHSAA guidelines
* Maintain a safe, organized, and positive practice environment
* Ensure compliance with CHSAA rules and school policies Qualifications * Prior tennis coaching experience preferred
* Competitive tennis playing experience and/or coaching background preferred
* Knowledge of tennis fundamentals, match strategy, and player development
* Ability to motivate, mentor, and positively influence high school student-athletes
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
