Principal Engineer

Principal EngineerWe are looking for a Principal Engineer with 10-25 years of design and field experience.Responsibilities include:Conducting field investigations, analysis, and designInteracting with clients and other design and construction professionalsConducting forensic investigations and litigation support for expert witness servicesPerforming business development tasks and developing a book of businessPerforming all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or managerQualifications include:Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering preferredProfessional licensure/registration for the state of IL requiredExperienced with AutoCAD and computer aided analysis/design of structures is required and experience with BIM software a plusStrong oral and written communication skills are also requiredSome travel is required to attend site meetings and perform investigationsThe successful candidate will be able to bring a book of work and clients to SOCOTEC and help us to grow the Chicago office. Service sectors that include Infrastructure, Transportation, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Structural Dynamics will be those most strongly considered
