Job Summary
Responsible for collecting, reviewing, and entering data into the Trauma and Stroke Registries while coordinating emergency department quality initiatives, chart reviews, performance improvement projects, staff education, and departmental reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with at least three years of Emergency Medicine experience.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
- Flexible with job duties and responsibilities.
- Experience in Information Systems Management preferred but notrequired.
- Working knowledge of data processing systems and data analysispreferredbut notrequired.
- Ability to review charts for quality improvement opportunities.
- Ability to review and correct charges for billing.
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma and stroke registries.
- Quality improvement and performance improvement experience.
- Healthcare data analysis and reporting experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review ED records for policy compliance and specified patient populations.
- Translate data into meaningful outcomes for staff and providers.
- Develop and deliver staff education based onidentifiedneeds.
- Maintain quality boards and department quality metrics.
- Perform chart reviews andassistwith performance improvement projects.
- Maintain trauma, stroke, patient flow, and quality reporting statistics.
- Participate in DNV audits and support certification initiatives.
- Identifyand enter eligible patients into Trauma and Stroke Registries.
- Prepare monthly reports andcomparativetrend analyses.
- Review records for performance improvement and billing accuracy.
- Assistwith emergency department supply ordering as needed.
- Function as a staff nurse asrequiredand maintain TNCC, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the ED Director, Nurse Manager, Clinical Educator, and Trauma/Stroke leadership.
- Attend meetings, classes, and webinars to support professional development.
- Support staff education and certification initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all activities.
- Serve as a departmental resource for quality, trauma, and stroke functions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use computers for extended periods.
- Ability to review medical records and perform detailed data analysis.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, and movement of supplies or equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, providers, and external agencies.
