Physics Professor for AI Model Training [Remote]

Provide high-level domain guidance in high energy and mathematical physics to adjudicate competing arguments, evaluate technical claims, and draft defensible written evaluations that will help train next-generation AI systems. This is a remote contractor role for established senior researchers who can reason at the meta level, apply expert judgment in ambiguous cases, and produce rigorously argued assessments suitable for peer review by senior physicists. No prior AI experience is required.

• Adjudicate contested or competing physics arguments, solutions, or interpretations within your subfield.
• Compare alternative approaches to the same problem, specifying which approach is superior, under what assumptions, and in which regimes each applies.
• Identify and articulate meta-level criteria for evaluating robustness and validity, including key assumptions and breaking points of approximations.
• Provide calibrated, authoritative assessments while transparently acknowledging genuine uncertainty or open questions in the field.
• Draft defensible written evaluations that are clear and rigorous enough for review by fellow senior physicists.
• Use technical tools such as LaTeX, SymPy, Python, and Jupyter to verify or contrast technical claims when necessary, and indicate when a question remains unresolved and what considerations are relevant.

• Required skills: deep physics mastery, expert judgment in ambiguous cases, meta-level reasoning, research leadership, and the ability to produce defensible written articulation.
• PhD in physics with demonstrated expertise and scholarly impact in your specified subfield.
• Current or former Associate Professor, Full Professor, Chair Professor, or Principal Investigator or Group Leader with a record of independent research leadership.
• Ongoing research activity using one or more of these methods: AdS/CFT, on-shell gravitational action, Weyl Fefferman Graham gauge, or tensor algebra of boundary curvature invariants.
• 3 to 5 recent representative publications in your target subfield, with arXiv identifiers or DOI references.
• Prior experience supervising PhD students or postdocs, or equivalent leadership experience in industry research settings.
• Proficiency with LaTeX, SymPy, Python, and Jupyter. If you have gaps in experience with any of these tools, please indicate them.
• Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to articulate nuanced and well-reasoned judgments.

• Contribution: Provide high-level domain guidance as part of a project for a customer, producing written evaluations and technical checks that inform AI training and evaluation.

Pay rate: $80 to $160 per hour.
