Coddington Learning Center is looking for a fun, energetic, patient teacher to join our team as an Assistant Toddler Teacher. The age range in out toddler room is 18 months to 3 years old. The hours for this position would be Monday through Friday 8:15 AM until 5:15 PM.

Must be willing to help change diapers as well as help toilet train the older toddlers.

Pay will be based on verified education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow and help develop a creative activities suitable for toddlers
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, do crafts, etc.)
• Communicate with parents regularly about child’s day and activities they did.
• Collaborate with lead teacher
• Help maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Complete 24 hours of continuing education annually

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• 1500 clock hours in a childcare setting or willingness to complete an online training within the first 6 months of employment
• Must pass all background checks requited by Childcare Licensing
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit on the floor to engage in play with the children
