Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Leaders in retail pharmacy management are needed for a contract role starting 09/14/26 in a 340B outpatient retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital in Iowa. This position will last approximately 13 weeks, covering the period until a permanent pharmacy manager is hired.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription processing, staff coordination, and compliance with regulatory standards in a 340B pharmacy setting
• Manage a pharmacy staff consisting of one pharmacist and two technicians, ensuring smooth workflow during business hours
• Utilize the Pioneer pharmacy computer system for order entry, inventory management, and record-keeping
• Maintain high standards of customer service and patient care in a retail environment
• Collaborate with hospital administration and other healthcare professionals as needed
• Support pharmacy operations Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• On-call duties may be required but are infrequent

Qualifications or Desired Experience:

• Active Iowa pharmacist license or eligibility to quickly obtain a temporary Iowa license
• Proven retail pharmacy management experience; exposure to 340B program operations is highly desirable
• Ability to effectively manage staff and handle a daily prescription volume of approximately 140
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Availability for full-time hours during the pharmacy's operating schedule
