Child Care Classroom Assistant Teacher

Qualificationso Be at least 18 years of age.o Have a high school degree or GED.o Have at least 1 year of experience working with children and/or a certificate in early childhood education or currently working towards the completion of one.o Submit to Michigan Child Care Background Check and Public Sex Offender Registry Clearanceo Be CPR & First Aid certified; completed Health and Safety Training; and Infant SIDS & Safe Sleep or obtain certification upon hire.o Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom.o Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences.o Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations.o Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 70lbs.o Be available for full time employment and available to work as late as 6:30 pmo Have dependable transportation.Job Responsibilitieso Supervise and care for children while Lead /Assistant Teachers are out of the classroom.o Maintain responsibilities and duties of the classroom when Lead Teacher and/or Assistant Teachers are not present in the classroom (ex. Lunch Breaks, PTO, In-between shift changes)o Assisting in all classroomso Help facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children.o Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all timeso Assist children with activities of daily life (diapering, feeding, dressing)o Maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for children.o Establish a professional level of communication with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service.o Assist the Lead/Assistant Teacher in implementing curriculum and planning daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children.o Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends.o Complete some light paperwork.o Be responsible for daily sheets and the daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, and diaper changing.o Communicate with the Lead/Assistant Teacher regarding all aspects of the children’s care as well as classroom management.o Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times.Job Benefits:Health InsurancePaid Time OffPaid HolidaysPaid Professional Development TrainingsFlexible Schedule (Day Shift, Monday-Friday)Employee Child Care DiscountRate of pay is based on level of education and experience in the field #J-18808-Ljbffr Lil Sunflowers Learning Academy, LLC
