The Renewal Roots Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our collaborative team in providing essential mental health services in a remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
  • Develop customized and client-centered treatment plans that resonate with clients’ goals, preferences, and unique needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support clients in their recovery process.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to foster understanding and resilience.
  • Monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on evolving needs and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals for integrated care approaches, ensuring a comprehensive treatment experience for clients.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorders to continuously enhance treatment strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards to uphold the integrity of patient care.
  • Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development for continuous improvement and support.
  • Advocate for clients' mental health needs and work towards reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will predominantly work with individuals facing a range of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will also have the opportunity to provide guidance and support to vulnerable populations such as homeless individuals, refugees, domestic violence survivors, and others seeking mental health care. Your contributions will not only facilitate recovery but also empower clients to develop coping strategies and resilience, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

  • Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is necessary.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build secure and trusting relationships with clients.
  • Demonstration of empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients' experiences and struggles.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage therapy sessions, administrative tasks, and client follow-ups effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience providing therapy to diverse populations including, but not limited to, marginalized groups.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapies to address mood disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex life situations and effectively connect clients with community resources.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
