Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cath Lab position requiring 2+ years of peds cath lab experience and active FL or compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Cath Lab unit within a children's hospital setting
• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterizations
• Monitoring and management of pulmonary artery lines/Swan Ganz and procedural sedation
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday 0700-1530
• Call requirement of 7 consecutive days every other week, with weekday call 1530-0700 and 24-hour weekend call coverage
• Accepts local candidates

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or eNLC/multistate compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric cath lab experience required
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• Pediatric or adult acute care RN experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac procedures, pre- and post-operative care, medication administration, IV drips, invasive lines, EKG interpretation, and patient monitoring preferred
• BSN, CPN, or equivalent pediatric certification preferred

Additional Information

• Provide safe, compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric Cath Lab patients using the nursing process and evidence-based practices
• Complete pre-operative assessments, verify consents and documentation, and prepare patients for procedures
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms, and manage IV drips and invasive lines
• Assist with anesthesia, patient emergence, and sterile procedure support
• Document care in the electronic medical record and complete discharge planning
• Continuously monitor patients during procedures and promptly communicate changes in condition to the physician and care team
• Provide patient and family education and complete accurate handoffs
• Support Universal Protocol and surgical safety standards
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, ICU, Child Life, Med-Surg, and other interdisciplinary teams
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to assignment confirmation
