Position: Robotic Welding Operator / Robotic MIG Welder
Equipment: OTC DAIHEN FD-B6 Robot with WB-P402L Welbee Welding Power Source
Pay: $35.00+/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Robotic Welding Operator with hands-on experience operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and/or programming robotic welding equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong MIG welding background and experience working with automated or robotic welding systems.

This position will operate an OTC DAIHEN FD-B6 6-axis robotic arc-welding system equipped with a WB-P402L Welbee CO2/MAG/MIG welding power source .

Responsibilities

• Operate OTC DAIHEN robotic welding equipment to complete production welds.
• Load and properly position parts into welding fixtures and jigs.
• Start, stop, reset, and monitor robotic welding cycles.
• Use the robot controller/teach pendant to make necessary adjustments.
• Set and adjust welding parameters based on material and production requirements.
• Monitor weld quality throughout production.
• Inspect completed welds for defects, including porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, excessive spatter, and incorrect weld placement.
• Make minor program, torch-position, or weld-path adjustments when required and authorized.
• Troubleshoot common robotic welding issues, including wire-feed problems, poor arc starts, incorrect weld placement, and equipment faults.
• Replace welding consumables such as contact tips, nozzles, welding wire, and related components.
• Clean and maintain the welding torch and robotic welding cell.
• Perform basic manual MIG welding and weld touch-ups when necessary.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and production drawings.
• Follow established quality, production, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized robotic welding work area.

Required Experience

• Previous robotic welding experience strongly required .
• Experience with OTC DAIHEN equipment is highly preferred .
• Experience operating robotic welding equipment using a teach pendant/controller.
• Strong MIG welding knowledge and understanding of welding parameters.
• Ability to recognize welding defects and make appropriate adjustments.
• Experience working with welding fixtures, jigs, and production parts.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic robotic welding troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with direct experience using any of the following are strongly preferred:

• OTC DAIHEN FD-Series welding robots
• FD-B6 robotic welding systems
• OTC DAIHEN teach pendants/controllers
• Welbee WB-P402L or similar Welbee welding power sources
• Robotic MIG/MAG welding
• Robotic weld programming or program adjustment
• Production or manufacturing welding environments

This is not just a manual MIG welding position. Candidates should have actual experience operating robotic or automated welding equipment.
