We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager who takes pride in leading service, developing people, and following through. The right candidate brings a confident floor presence, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain high standards while creating a welcoming environment for guests and staff.

 

The Role

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help oversee daily restaurant operations and lead the front-of-house team. You will be actively involved in service, staff training, guest relationships, and the successful execution of private dining and events.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead service with an active floor presence, overseeing pacing, communication, presentation, and consistent execution of our service standards.

• Build relationships with guests, recognize returning diners, anticipate needs, and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.

• Help recruit, onboard, train, and develop the front-of-house team. Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and hold staff accountable with fairness and respect.

• Lead effective pre-shift meetings and ongoing training covering menu knowledge, steak cuts and temperatures, sushi, wine, cocktails, and steps of service.

• Coordinate closely with the kitchen, sushi, and beverage teams to ensure accurate orders, appropriate timing, and clear communication of allergies and dietary needs.

• Partner with the events team to execute private dinners, receptions, and buyouts. Review event orders, room setups, guest counts, menus, staffing, and service timelines before each event.

• Oversee reservation planning and seating flow, ensuring private event arrangements and guest requests are accurately communicated.

• Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, labor management, inventory, purchasing, and cost control while maintaining appropriate staffing and service quality.

• Review daily sales, payments, discounts, and service reports, communicating issues and following through on outstanding tasks.

• Maintain opening and closing procedures, restaurant presentation, cleanliness, food safety, and adherence to our operating standards.
• This is a full time position and requires flexible schedule availability, with most Fridays and Saturdays off.

Qualifications

• At least three years of management experience in an upscale restaurant, fine dining establishment, or steakhouse; previous AGM experience preferred.

• Proven ability to lead busy services, coach staff, and maintain consistent standards.

• Strong food and beverage knowledge, including wine service; steakhouse and sushi experience are valuable.

• Experience coordinating private dining or events alongside regular restaurant service.

• Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and dependable follow-through.

• Familiarity with Toast, Resy, and 7shifts preferred.

• Understanding of scheduling, labor costs, inventory, and restaurant financial performance.
