Duties

Help

• You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of large commercial, industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions.
• You will select tools, decide on methods and techniques to use and install a variety of parts.
• You will make repairs to faulty equipment to keep inoperative time to a minimum.
• You will calculate airflow and pressure-temperature characteristics.
• You will read and interpret detailed equipment blueprints, electrical schematics, drawings and specifications for proper installation.
• You will troubleshoot a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment.

• You must be willing and able to use protective clothing and gear and observe safety precautions.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. As an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic you will be responsible for performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems that provide a variety of functions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, circulating, and filtering.
