Emergency Medicine - Physician Assistant

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring an Emergency Medicine for a temporary assignment in Holdrege, Nebraska. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Location: Holdrege, Nebraska

Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 3

Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.

Pay Rate: $98 - $105/hr

Responsibilities for a Emergency Medicine:

• Take complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories

• Review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports and order diagnostic testing appropriate for complaint, age, race, sex, and physical condition of the patient

• Perform complete physical examinations and record pertinent data in the patients' medical records

• Make medical diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate healthcare resources

• Arrange hospital admissions and discharges, perform hospital rounds, and record appropriate patient progress notes

• Compile detailed narrative and case summaries and complete forms pertinent to patients' medical records

• Issue diagnostic orders with timely signatures in accordance with clinic and hospital guidelines and payer requirements

• Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment

• Provide patient teaching instructions and guidance regarding follow-up medical care

• Perform or assist in routine laboratory medical techniques, routine therapeutic procedures, and some surgical procedures

• Maintain records of appropriate signatures for clinical oversight

• Participate in organizational teams and committees for process improvement

• Provide medical care to all patients within PA-C scope of practice and privileges as outlined in the credentialing and privileges file

• Assess and manage patients presenting to the emergency department during assigned shifts and communicate with the on-call physician as necessary

• Consult with on-call physician as outlined in Mid-Level Provider Management of Emergency Situations

• Respond to Rapid Response and Code Team activations as available

• Supervise cardiac stress testing

• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, ATLS, and DEA certifications as required by assignment

• Practice within scope and privileges as stated in the PA-C credentialing file
