Producer, Gaming Partnerships (Contract) — Southeast Asia [Remote]

About the Role

We're collaborating with the world's biggest mobile games. We've shipped collaborations with Genshin Impact, Brawl Stars and Eggy Party, and we're now pursuing partnerships at a similar scale.

Every one of these starts with the same question: what should the integration look like? How does Duo exist in the game?

The right answer looks different in a battle royale than in a MOBA or an MMORPG - and getting it wrong gives us a partnership that reads as an advert rather than something players actually want to own.

We're looking for someone to answer that question with us, and then deliver it, on a project basis across multiple concurrent collaborations. You'll ideate concepts alongside our Business Development lead, pressure-test them for feasibility and player appeal, take them to partner studios, and deliver each collaboration through to launch.

You need to be a serious gamer for this. Not "I like games" - we need someone who has spent real hours in MOBAs, MMORPGs and battle royales, who understands cosmetic economies from the inside, and who can tell us why one skin sold out while another sat on the shelf. Preferably based in Southeast Asia. Remote-friendly, working partner hours as needed.

Engagement: This is a 1099 contract role, averaging ~20 hours/week, for a term of 6 months.

You will…

Concepting

• Generate and pressure-test in-game integration concepts for each target title, with the Business Development lead and Design Studio
• Translate Duo's personality into each game's own native systems
• Bring deep working knowledge of each target game's cosmetic economy, progression and live-ops calendar, and where a partnership can credibly sit
• Hold the line on taste: what reads as authentic to players versus what reads as advertising

Delivery

• Deliver each collaboration, from agreed concept through launch to post-campaign readout
• Build and hold the master timeline across Duolingo and partner teams, identifying the critical path - usually the partner's game build - and managing hard against it
• Support the cross-functional workstream on a deliverable basis: Business Development, Design Studio, Marketing etc.
• Build the playbook, so the second collaboration takes half the effort of the first

✅ You have…

• Extensive personal experience across MOBAs, MMORPGs, battle royales at a level of investment that gave you genuine fluency in how these games work.
• Deep, practical understanding of cosmetic economies: gacha and loot boxes, battle passes, rarity tiers, skins, emotes, and what drives players to spend or grind
• Able to hold a credible, specific conversation with a game producer about their own game
• Instinct for competitive integrity - what can be added to a ranked game without players objecting, and what can't

Delivery capability

• 5+ years in project or programme management, ideally partnerships, integrated campaigns or game production
• Demonstrated experience shipping something complex with an external partner against a fixed public launch date
• Excellent written communication and stakeholder management - much of this job is chasing people at other companies without becoming someone they avoid
• Highly organised and self-directed, comfortable operating with no established playbook
• Fluency in Mandarin and English required; several target partners are Chinese-owned studios.

Strong plus

• Game development or production experience — you've been on the other side of the table and know what you're asking a studio to build
• Live-ops or seasonal content delivery background
• Experience at or with a mobile game publisher
