Position Title Property Claims Adjuster Summary Experienced claims adjuster to adjust complex first and third‑party claims, including but not limited to wind/hail, dwelling and machinery fire, water, personal property, cattle, and crop liability losses. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Investigate, evaluate and conclude claims of highly complex nature; adjustment of losses in excess of $20,000 required. Manage first and third‑party claims, including wind/hail, fire, water, property damages, cattle, and crop liability losses. Negotiate and interact with plaintiff counsel and defense counsel. Collaborate with teammates to effectively manage and coordinate complex casualty claims. Investigate and evaluate coverage issues. Support company, departmental and managerial decisions through positive interpretation, application and communication of company information and policies to fellow employees, agents and customers. Assist in training claims personnel in casualty claims adjusting. Perform special projects as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities Coachable and able to learn from constructive criticism. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Sound judgment and problem‑solving skills. Excellent computer skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Education &/Or Experience College bachelor's degree preferred. Considering an associate's degree with at least one year of work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry and demonstrated desire to learn through completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses. Continued learning through additional courses may be required by the Manager.
