Job Summary This position is responsible for creating, leading, and supporting assigned participants in their daily programming in the areas of academic, social, life, and leisure skills as well as recreational activities. The role includes assisting in the development and implementation of Personal Centered Individual Service Plans (ISP), ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines, and maintaining safe and healthy environments. Responsibilities Provide active engagement and support for all individuals assigned, including community integration and inclusion, training, leisure, communication, mobility, behavior, personal care, bus loading/unloading, medication management, safety, and risk management. Implement Person Centered Plans (PCP) outcomes, support activities, and protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment, proper documentation, and progress. Maintain accurate PCP documentation, quarterly reports, and daily notes. Report unsafe conditions, medical concerns, and incidents to the Program Manager or designee; complete incident reports and adhere to health and safety regulations. Communicate with family members, guardians, authorized representatives, residential providers, and support coordinators regarding participant illness, incidents, and progress. Assist in the PCP process (plan, quarterlies, daily notes) and coordinate with the team for implementation, monitoring, and review of the individual’s plan. Utilize appropriate behavior intervention techniques, proper lifting, feeding, and transferring techniques as written. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment. Qualifications High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required. Minimum one year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or in a related field. Pass State of Virginia DBHDS fingerprinting and criminal background check. Pass ODD (Orientation to Developmental Disabilities) assessment and competencies. Current and valid driver's license for individuals who drive; must pass online driving training within 15 days of hire. Physical ability to support participants with personal care (feeding, toileting, transferring, etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn corporate specific programs and software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of behavior intervention principles and community resources. Physical Demands Requires standing, reaching with hands and arms, talking or hearing; occasional walking and sitting; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Noise level usually moderate to loud; occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Benefits Position starts at $18/hr. 8‑hour day shifts, Monday – Friday; no evenings or weekends. Three weeks of paid time‑off and eleven paid federal holidays.
