Manual Machinist Overview: Baton Rouge, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Machinist Apprentice to join our Machine Shop team. This is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (30‑minute lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM). The ideal candidate will operate a manual lathe to produce new parts and refurbish existing repair components. This role reports directly to the Shop Foreman. Essential Duties Read and interpret drawings and work orders to identify necessary materials Operate and maintain manual lathe and associated tooling Machine new parts and repair existing components to required specifications Utilize manual tools to finish jobs and ensure final dimensions match engineering drawings Collaborate with other departments to resolve any machining or production issues Requirements / Skills Must be detail-oriented Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task effectively Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Manual dexterity required to operate tools and machinery safely Must be able to work in a shop environment with varying temperatures and noise levels Equal Opportunity Statement Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
