STEM Summer Program Mentors Needed in Detroit, MI Area

STEM for Others is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free, personalized STEM education and mentorship to students from underrepresented communities. Our volunteer mentors work one-on-one with students to build confidence, spark curiosity, and open doors to future opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math. As a Volunteer Mentor, you will: Provide free, personalized STEM tutoring and mentorship to K-12 students Meet virtually or in-person with your student(s) on a flexible, recurring basis Help students with homework, test prep, and STEM projects Serve as a role model and guide for students interested in STEM careers Collaborate with our team to track student progress and goals Who We’re Looking For: College students, graduate students, or professionals with a background or interest in STEM Patient, enthusiastic, and committed to making a difference Comfortable working with youth from diverse backgrounds No prior teaching experience required — just a passion for STEM and mentorship! Time Commitment: Typically 2-4 hours per week Flexible scheduling based on your availability and your student’s needs Ongoing commitment preferred (semester or longer) Why Volunteer with STEM for Others?
