Position Summary The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC seeks an outstanding candidate for a Part‑Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the Division of Medical Oncology. Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, the NP/PA performs physical examinations, treats common episodic and chronic health care problems, counsels patients and families, monitors patient progress, and assists with clinical research projects. The NP/PA works in collaboration with other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, while retaining responsibility for ongoing clinical management of oncology patients. Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and an interest in serving a diverse patient population in both private and public clinical practice. Responsibilities Perform physical examinations and treat common episodic and chronic health care problems. Provide counseling to patients and families and monitor patient progress. Assist with clinical research projects. Collaborate with other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, while retaining responsibility for ongoing clinical management of oncology patients. Qualifications For NP candidates: possession of a current certificate of completion from a Nurse Practitioner program. Current and valid California State RN and Nurse Practitioner (or PA) licenses. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Clinical nursing experience. Strong clinical skills and an interest in serving a diverse patient population. Ability to work with several oncologists (Head/Neck, Lung, GU, etc.) at the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Benefits and Compensation Highly competitive salary range of $76,440 to $215,300.80, commensurate with experience and qualifications, with excellent benefits. Compensation is determined by scope and responsibilities, work experience, education/training, key skills, internal equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, and external market considerations.
