This role is responsible for defining, planning, and executing small to medium capital projects while supporting maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of Site Services Utilities.The Senior Plant Engineer works independently to deliver engineering solutions aligned with site objectives, regulatory expectations, and Evonik standards.RESPONSIBILITIESProject & Capital Management Lead small to medium capital projects through scope development, design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and startupEnsure project delivery meets safety, cost, quality, and schedule expectationsManage change controls, develop engineering documentation, and execute system qualification activitiesSite Services Utilities Support Provide day-to-day engineering support for utilities systems (e.g., steam, water, HVAC, power distribution, and supporting infrastructure)Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform root cause failure analysisDevelop and implement maintenance strategies to improve reliability and lifecycle performanceSupport maintenance planning, budgeting, and execution within assigned cost centersMonitor and report key performance metricsOperations & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, and complianceIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiativesSupport productivity projects utilizing internal and external resourcesEnsure adherence to cGMP, regulatory requirements, and engineering standardsTechnical Leadership & Standards Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned engineering and utility systemsDevelop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and work instructionsMentor junior engineers and provide peer design reviewsPromote best practices in safety, compliance, and engineering executionFinancial & Strategic Planning Support development of maintenance budgets and capital forecastsManage project expenditures within approved fundingContribute to long-term asset and investment strategies for Site Services UtilitiesQUALITYThe incumbent is responsible for adhering to cGMP requirements to ensure the Safety, Identity, Strength, Purity, and Quality (SISPQ) of products manufactured at Tippecanoe Laboratories.
