About the Position

RN - CVOR (Cardiovascular OR)

Location: Indianapolis, IN | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type: Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts, weekdays | CV call and holiday coverage required | Expected call: 90–120 hours per 6-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

Circulate in a high-volume cardiovascular OR setting with an average daily census of 70–80 patients across 24 OR rooms
Perform and support complex cardiovascular procedures including heart/lung transplant, valve replacement, and aortic dissection cases
Receive pump lines from perfusion and prepare them for cannulation
Float within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as needed — floating is expected of all travelers
Operate and work alongside specialized equipment including the DaVinci XI robotic surgical system
Participate in CV call rotations and work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required

Required Qualifications

Active RN license (must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license application has been submitted)
BLS/BCLS certification required
Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
Demonstrated experience in cardiovascular OR circulating; scrub experience is not required
Must have hands-on experience with heart/lung transplant, valve replacement, aortic dissection, and cannulation preparation
Strong proficiency ratings (3s and 4s) required in CV, peripheral vascular, heart transplant, and lung transplant skill areas
Nursing degree from a program accredited by the ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
SSN and date of birth required at time of submittal
Two supervisor references required

Indiana residents are considered local and are eligible for this Surgical Services position; local travelers will be offered the in-state rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

First-time travelers may be considered if they have Level 1 Trauma Center experience
Well-rounded OR background with current competency across multiple service lines beyond CV and transplant
Experience working in a high-acuity, high-volume Level 1 Trauma Center environment
