Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS required; TNCC, NIH, and ABLS are welcome Must-Have: Advanced skills needed: Vent management ABG interpretation Vasoactive drip titration Hemodynamic monitoring Description: This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse in a 29-bed general ICU within a level 2 trauma center. The unit provides critical care for patients and is equipped with advanced technology. There is an emphasis on heart-related procedures with a significant number of cases handled annually. The unit offers experience with CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ECMO. The average experience of the ICU staff is 12 years. Standard patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2, with occasional 1:3 for patients ready to leave ICU. Intubations, central line placements, bronchoscopy, bedside tracheostomy, and PEG tube placements are performed on the unit. Shifts are scheduled as three 12-hour shifts per week with alternating weekends. Travelers will float to other units first if necessary. On-call duty is only expected when census drops.
