Messina Hof is made up of a team of honest and passionate people of character that desire to be part of a rapidly growing company in an exciting and thriving industry.POSITION SUMMARYAs the Line cook you will prepare food using recipes and menu items created by the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef while keeping the kitchen running smoothly. You should be knowledgeable of various cooking techniques and have a passion for food.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist in preparing meal ingredients, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables as well as marinating meats.Preparing soups, salads, and sauces as instructed by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stationsEnsure that all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces are cleaned and disinfected before and after each shift.Maintain a low amount of waste through proper recipe adherence and food rotationPlate and garnish meal items in accordance with the instructions provided by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.Perform other duties as required including assisting other departments as neededQualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSAbility to use kitchen equipment safelyAbility to read and follow a recipeMust have active TABC and Food Handler certifications at all timesPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
