The PMHNP will work primarily onsite within our modern clinic, situated in a thoughtfully designed assisted living facility. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose mental health disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, diligently monitoring their effectiveness and adjusting dosages as necessary.
• Provide therapeutic services including psychotherapy and counseling, employing various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Engage with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate holistic patient care, ensuring comprehensive and integrated treatment approaches.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies essential for recovery.
• Document and monitor patient progress, with a keen focus on treatment response and symptom changes.
• Conduct follow-up visits to assess treatment efficacy, address any concerns, and amend care plans as needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute insights and strategies for improving patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population within the assisted living facility, addressing a variety of mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and cognitive impairments. The clients range from elderly residents requiring specialized geriatric psychiatric care to younger adults seeking support for ongoing mental health management. Your role will be critical in fostering trusting relationships that enhance treatment adherence and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New Jersey.
• National certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a psychiatric clinic, assisted living facility, or community mental health setting.

Compensation and Benefits
