We’re searching for a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to join Aurora's Motion Control team. The Motion Control team is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and verifying the motion control system of the Aurora Driver with all vehicle platforms.In this role, you willDevelop motion control algorithms for a safety-critical systemAnalyze control system performance in both offline and on-road execution environmentsVerify robustness of system to disturbances, failure modes, and environmental conditionsRequired QualificationsExperience in control system design with a solid foundation in control theoryExperience building production-quality C++ code5+ years of experience working on control systems for robots or vehicles in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or related fields.Desirable QualificationsFamiliarity with design of fail-safe/fail-operational control systemsExperience in verifying design of safety-critical and/or autonomous systemsExperience analyzing/simulating nonlinear vehicle dynamicsKnowledge of state estimation and signal processing techniquesMasters or PhD in related fieldFor roles based in Mountain View, CA: The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $262,000 per year.For roles based in Pittsburgh, PA: The salary range for this position is $146,000 - $234,000 per year.Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
