Custodian - Night

CustodianThis position is responsible for keeping his/her assigned area(s) or building(s) clean, safe, functional and secure in accordance with prescribed and established district policies and standards. The custodian must maintain all assigned areas in a state of operational excellence so that they present no interruptions, distractions or obstacles to the educational program. This position is Monday - Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm (Elementary and Middle School) or 4:00pm-12:30am (High School).Essential Responsibilities and DutiesPerforms regular custodial duties in assigned area(s) or building(s).Projects a positive image of the school district with his/her team whenever the public, guests or visitors are in the building.Accepts and follows verbal or written instructions from the head custodian/supervisor.Provides services as directed to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities.Maintains inventory of custodial/maintenance supplies and equipment.Restocks disposable custodial/maintenance items and provides the head custodian/supervisor with inventory usage data.Cleans and preserves the designated spaces, equipment, furniture, etc. in the building.Maintains building security by opening and closing the building each school day and during special events as directed.Is available for emergency clean up or maintenance of the building(s) or area(s) outside of the regular work hours.Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.District ExpectationsAll employees of the District are expected to adhere to the policies and regulations of the Board of Education, maintain appropriate certification and competencies necessary for the position, and demonstrate the values of the district at all times.
