Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for an Occupational Therapist. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible related services position.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapist (OT) supports students in developing the skills necessary to participate fully in their educational program. This includes addressing fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional skills that impact academic performance and school-based activities. The OT collaborates with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student independence and access to the least restrictive environment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• National Board Certification through NBCOT (preferred or required per state regulations)
• Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school setting
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and IEP development
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and related service providers
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate students to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals related to occupational therapy
• Provide direct and/or consultative occupational therapy services as outlined in student IEPs
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student access to the curriculum
• Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with federal, state, and district requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
• Provide training and support to staff and families regarding student needs and strategies
• Ensure services are delivered in the least restrictive environment and aligned with best practices
• Stay current with developments in occupational therapy and special education
• Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district. This position may require additional workdays during the summer months beyond the standard school-year schedule.
