What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC machines to produce precision parts to print.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sample parts so you know exactly what “good” looks like.
• Measure, mark, and prepare materials, then select fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials to run the job efficiently.
• Calculate and adjust speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut to protect both quality and cycle time.
• Load, retrieve, and edit CNC programs as needed, including common G and M code tweaks to keep the process dialed in.
• Monitor machines during operation, step in before issues turn into scrap, and adjust offsets and tooling to maintain tight tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts, verify all print and quality requirements, and run trial parts to confirm that setups and programs are correct.
• Troubleshoot machining and program issues right at the machine instead of waiting for someone else to fix it.
• Communicate with engineers, programmers, and teammates across shifts to keep work flowing smoothly.
• Support continuous improvement, including Lean practices, PMs, 5S, and Kaizen activities.
• Work safely, ethically, and with pride in your workmanship, every shift.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED, plus at least two years of machining experience (or equivalent hands-on background).
• Demonstrated ability to perform at a Machinist II level: independent setups, solid troubleshooting, and proven reliability.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and CNC operations.
• Confident blueprint reading and use of shop math (fractions, decimals, and standard units of measure).
• A calm, decisive approach on the floor - you can spot issues, think them through, and act.
• A mindset that values safety, quality, and doing the job right, especially when no one is watching.

Physical and Work Environment

• Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and moving throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment.
• Skilled with hands-on use of tools, materials, and machine controls.
• Adequate vision for detailed inspection work (close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
• Able to communicate and hear clearly on a busy shop floor.
