Family Nurse Practitioner

The FNP provides a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF), including general screenings, medical care, and examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions affecting any organ system.

Provide technical direction and education to other staff members, conduct evidence-based educational lectures, and participate in in-service training.

The FNP administers immunizations.

Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, and minor trauma within established protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, or in consultation with a physician.

The FNP promotes preventive care and health maintenance through annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care education via formal and individual counseling.

Requirements:

• Education: Master's Degree in Nursing from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school.
• Board Certification: Must be Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Experience: Minimum of 24 months in the last 36 months as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or client (ARC).
• License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in any state.
