Lab Technician (Hardware Measurement & Testing)

Overview

Our client, a leading technology company known for its cloud and hardware innovation, is seeking a skilled Lab Technician to support the development of advanced cloud infrastructure hardware. This role focuses on signal and power integrity work, including hands-on lab-based measurements supporting hardware development efforts. The ideal candidate will bring direct experience with electronic measurement equipment and a strong technical foundation in computer hardware. This is an onsite position based in Redmond, WA, requiring five days per week in the lab environment.

What You'll Do

\n
• Taking VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) and Scope measurements on hardware components
\n
• Analyzing information to determine, recommend, and plan hardware layouts, including computers and peripheral equipment modifications
\n
• Assembling and modifying existing equipment to meet specialized testing needs
\n
• Building, testing, and modifying product prototypes using working or theoretical models, including computer simulations
\n
• Evaluating factors such as reporting formats, cost constraints, and security requirements to determine hardware configurations
\n
• Monitoring equipment functionality and making necessary modifications to ensure systems conform to specifications
\n
• Conferring with engineering staff to evaluate hardware/software interfaces and overall system performance requirements
\n
• Providing training and support to system designers and users
\n

The Ideal Candidate

\n
• 2+ years of hands-on Lab Technician experience
\n
• 2+ years of Computer Hardware experience
\n
• 2+ years of Electronics experience
\n
• Demonstrated hands-on experience taking measurements on electronic systems (data center technician experience alone is not sufficient)
\n
• VNA measurement experience strongly preferred
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\n
• Creative and detail-oriented with strong teamwork skills
\n
• Basic mentoring skills to support and provide constructive feedback to colleagues
\n
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
\n
• Familiarity with transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems
\n
• Practical knowledge of engineering science and technology applications
\n
• Understanding of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software, including applications and programming
\n
• Experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field
\n
• Bachelor's or associate's degree in engineering preferred
\n
• 5 years of related experience required
\n
