About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed ICU with a 1:1-2 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing a general medical/surgical population including stable CVA post-TPA, respiratory failure, manual proning, COPD, CHF, and DKA
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG strips ; manage patients on ventilators (Galileo and G5 models)
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
• Participate in charge nurse duties as needed, including break relief coverage
• Rotate holiday coverage with core staff and work every other weekend
• Float to other area facilities within the Sacramento region as needed

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips and manage ventilated patients
• Completion of a Dysrhythmia Exam (via Relias) is required prior to placement; candidates receive two attempts

• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Familiarity with Galileo and G5 ventilators
• Prior experience in a charge nurse or leadership role within an ICU setting
• Experience caring for patients requiring manual proning or telemed-supported intensivist coverage

• Overtime and extra shifts may be available, with flexible self-scheduling tools accessible remotely and schedules posted four weeks in advance
• Work alongside 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support in a collaborative ICU environment
